Custom Timber Frame & Panelized Homes

Davis Frame Co.

Timber and panelized construction, engineered for design clarity

Translating Design Vision Into Precision-Built Structure

Davis Frame Company delivers coordinated timber frame and panelized systems for residential architecture.

From early collaboration through fabrication and delivery, Davis Frame supports architectural intent with coordinated, build-ready systems. Each project is approached as a fully integrated structure, bringing clarity, efficiency, and confidence from design to site.

With in-house timber framing and panelized components, the team supports a wide range of architectural styles while maintaining clean detailing, predictable schedules, and a smooth path to assembly.

What Sets Us Apart

Rooted in the New England architectural vernacular, our timber frame designs are known for adapting to both traditional and contemporary styles.  Often, our more traditional designs feature Bent Style Timber Framing- the traditional framing method that utilizes repeated timber cross sections and iconic timber roof trusses.

Build-Pak panelized wall and pre-cut framing system streamlines the building process, offering faster on-site assembly, improved quality control, greater energy efficiency, and lower cost..

Achieve ultimate flexibility with our Hybrid framing system.  Our Hybrid homes allow clients to dial in the scope of exposed heavy timber in conjunction with the Build-Pak Panel System to achieve the aesthetic, value, and performance they are looking for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our company designs and fabricates complete structural building envelope packages. Each project is unique and can include a wide range of components and services, which means the package cost can vary quite a bit, but typically ranges between $100 and $175 per square foot and represents between a quarter and a third of the overall cost of construction.

Ultimately, the cost to build our homes tends to follow regional “turnkey” price trends for similarly appointed high quality custom homes. Generally starting at $400 per square foot, our client’s preferences and priorities, regional code requirements, and project complexities are driving factors of the overall building cost.

Everywhere! Our homes are shipped throughout North America and internationally.

Timber frame is a classification of post and beam construction consisting of traditional wooden joinery, known as mortise-and-tenon, secured by wooden pegs. There are timber frame building methods, such as the Bent system where posts span, unbroken, from sill to eave or ridge and are erected in walls. (Bents run perpendicular to the ridge of the roof, while walls run parallel to the ridge). Post and beam home construction is a framework based solely on vertical and horizontal pieces: the posts and the beams. Post and beam homes are constructed in layers, with each floor built independently from the others. Typically, the posts and the beams are joined together by metal brackets.

Yes. Our company has collaborated with hundreds of architects to design and deliver homes across the country.

No. Our in-house design studio can work with you to develop a complete set of construction documents. Architects are a good choice for those that have complex design ideas and for those who are looking for a more complete set of plans that may include interior elevations, mechanical details, etc. If an engineering stamp is required, we work closely with our network of engineers nationwide to stamp our customers’ plans.

The design phase is typically a minimum of 3 months, and production is typically 3-4 months, so overall lead time from the beginning of your design to delivering the package is 6+ months. During the prime building months (May-November) our lead times can be greater than 8 weeks.

Complexity of design, engineering coordination, and sourcing of custom materials can also impact the time frame for delivery. We keep a well-stocked inventory of select structural, free-of-heart-center Douglas fir and eastern white pine cants. Other companies are often ordering their timber per-project, which adds significantly to the overall lead time. Our inventory allows us to move more quickly into production once the design is complete.

No, but we work with licensed engineers on any project when required. We can arrange to have plans reviewed by a consulting design professional as needed, such as an architect or engineer.

A qualified local home builder or general contractor of your choosing. Each project is unique, and we are able to offer varying levels of support depending on your builder’s experience and comfort level with timber, log or panelized construction.
